GIVE YOURSELF PERMISSION

In the spirit of Girl Campers everywhere, this column is dedicated to giving ourselves permission. We are often our own worst enemies. We often get in our own way, and frequently stop ourselves from pursuing our passions, dreaming up excuse after excuse. Add to this societal norms, personal history, family expectations, stories we tell ourselves about ourselves.They all get in the way. Instead, let’s give ourselves permission. Permission to learn new skills. Permission to have a midlife crisis (or two). Permission to make mistakes. Permission to make new friends. Permission to camp by ourselves. Permission to play.
